CONFERENCES
Educational conferences and webinars allow for our members to educate themselves and engage in important human rights conversations. Our interactive Black History Webinar provided the opportunity for members to have important conversations about anti-Black racism, educate themselves, improve allyship and ask Black activists questions.
FUNDRAISERS
During our first-ever semester, we hosted two fundraisers raising almost $500! We partnered with Carleton Law Society to do a bottle drive, raising money in efforts to support the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, an organization in which prioritizes and ensures the equality rights of women and girls under the law. Further, we hosted a very successful raffle fundraiser supporting the Native Women's Association of Canada, an organization fostering the social, cultural, political and well-being of Indigenous Women.
STUDY SESSIONS
Our study sessions offer the opportunity to drop in, work on your assignments and study alongside other like-minded individuals! This can help you with staying motivated and give you the opportunity to ask your peers questions - this can be less intimidating than reaching out to professors or teaching assistants. All members who attend will have the opportunity to win a $25 gift card to Starbucks.
MEMBER BONDING NIGHTS
Our member bonding nights allow for our members to connect with each other outside of the society setting, building friendships and networking opportunities. We pride ourselves in the kind, outgoing, collaborative and comfortable environment we have built together.
